homeless characters are slightly different in that most of them don't have journals or icons set up, so you may have to give me a day or so to do that. and in some cases, a couple more days to canon review if i haven't in a while.

Nope. But I'm sure it's important, I'm late and they've had to reschedule at least twice this month.

Geez. And you wonder why I went to the trouble of hacking into your systems to get an audience.

Technically, he... doesn't know I'm doing this. I'm kinda off-book here? I mean. Moreso than usual, when you're part of a team that is already operating off-book because you don't exist.

Is there gonna be a lot of mourning over SHIELD between here and there? I need to know if I should start counting to ten now or later.

I'm not really the mourning type. I was only an official agent for point five seconds before the whole HYDRA thing happened anyway. But... my team's pretty damn cool. I think you'll like them.

I don't know what you've been told, but I was never fond of SHIELD to begin with. You know the whole wormhole thing? They were trying to nuke the city.

Not that I was part of SHIELD back then, but technically, that wasn't us. Fury was against that plan entirely.

Fury was overruled, it was a SHIELD agent sending that nuke at us.

[hackitude]

Eh, I didn't say they were all smart. And anyway, how do you know it wasn't a HYDRA agent?

That's the thing, they were the same thing.

... Hey. Just 'cause some of them were scum-bags...

No kid, think about it. It was set-up like that from the beginning. You get a bunch of smart kids, recruit them from a young age, teach them to follow orders without question. You know what that sounds like? Hitler Youth. The entirety of SHIELD was like that. We're saving the world, trust those above you, trust the system.

It was broken and I still can't believe it took us them turning against Captain America to see it.

You think I don't know that? I've always been against the whole "trust the system" bull. The system is stupid. It's landed us in trouble more times than it's ever saved us.

Your entire team was part of that system. Steve had the right idea, taking it all down.

... I'm not disagreeing with you, dumbass. Hell, before I joined SHIELD, all I wanted to do was bring them down and put their secrets out into the open.

... and now you're secretly working for SHIELD with a SHIELD team on a plane previously owned by SHIELD. How did you fall so low?

... They're good people. And they're actually dedicated to... y'know, helping people. I guess I got attached.

You don't need to keep the association with a nazi group to help people.

What do you suggest? Working for you? Doing... what? Systems analysis in one of your corporate offices? Or maybe going back to living out of my purple van and hacking government websites until I get picked up by another organisation? One that maybe isn't quite so interested in hiring me and more interested in locking me away for good?

... Besides. This is personal, now. You might not have a vendetta against HYDRA, but I sure as hell do.

Not to pull the tragic backstory card, but HYDRA had my parents killed.

... Yeah. I read. Like I said, I'm... kind of like the Jarvis of my team. But-- everyone internalizes their crap differently. I mean... if you aren't into going after them then that's your business. I'm not judging. I'm just saying, I am. Going after them, I mean.
