fast and loose role-play
free and easy love, that's how it's s'posed to be!
want to thread with one of mine but aren't in the same game? want me to do something with one of yours in bakerstreet? can't find a good recent bakerstreet meme but want to thread anyway? want to explore au scenarios together? annoyed that i dropped that character you really wanted a thread with?
well drop me a comment here with whatever scenario (or link to a meme) you want, specify the character you want, and we can thread the merry day away!
any active or retired character from the muse list with two stars or more is fair game!
homeless characters are slightly different in that most of them don't have journals or icons set up, so you may have to give me a day or so to do that. and in some cases, a couple more days to canon review if i haven't in a while.

[NATHANIEL]
[And then there was a teenager looking ridiculous in a suit and attempting to brush him self off with the last of his dignity and looking very nonplussed. Possibly spluttering.]

And so when she spots the cute purple haired girl she'd never seen before she changes her direction on a dime, pivoting easily on one foot, and walks straight toward her. Saguaro's hands are stuck casually in her pockets, and the runic tattoos that are slightly darker than her skin are easily visible up her arms and on her ankles, disappearing into her clothes. She is also, however, short, not even a little muscular, and if her welcoming smile isn't very big it at least appears fairly genuine.]

And now, we wait. Let's see if your tech is really as good as your reputation, Mr. Stark.

Her eyes narrow slightly as she takes in Ward's sorry countenance. It doesn't lower her guard even for an instance. Even injured, even with no weapon in sight, she knows what he's capable of. When she speaks, however, she keeps her voice low. Not a whisper... but low.]

[for hope]
So he's never really needed to bluff his way into a bar before. Back home people acquiesced to his every request, and here he doesn't bother. But someone mentioned a girl named Kitty who works in a bar. This bar. And he knows, he knows it's a long shot. There must be thousands of girls named Kitty all over the multi-verse. But this place can bring people back to life, can't it?
Even as he's thinking it, he knows it's ridiculous. Even if the porter did bring her here and back to life, she would be sixteen. Not old enough to work in a bar in America, not even bluffing with a fake ID. But he has to try anyway.
So that's how he finds himself this evening arguing with the security guard outside this particular bar for what seems like an age and generally making a scene. Eventually, though, it becomes apparent that he's not going to get in no matter what he does. So he stalks off in a huff-- what kind of bar has a security guard? Honestly.
Then he doubles back and circles the block. If it's a business, it'll have to have a back entrance for employees and business deliveries. After getting turned around in several narrow lane ways, he finally finds it. Only, when he turns the handle, it's locked from the outside. He mutters a curse under his breath, jiggling the handle a few more times.]
is this going to end up longer
But this place is new, and exciting, and strange, and so she wants to face it as herself rather than as Clara or Lizzie or anyone else. So here, in this bar, she's Kitty Jones - not an imPort, not anyone that Mandrake could trace back, just a normal barmaid, but someone who gets called her real name and is quick-tempered and laughs and doesn't hide. She spent three years with her name hidden, keeping her face controlled and her voice level. Here, away from search spheres and Night Police, she's herself, and it's like stretching after a long sleep.
It's a daytime shift. She'll be off earlyish tonight. It's bad for tips, but good for reconnaissance: evenings, the network's most active. So she's finishing up her shift right then, bringing out the trash - a box full of empty bottles tucked under one arm, a sack of garbage in the other hand. She slams her hip into the lever as she goes, moving quickly in her impatience -
And then, the door stops suddenly as it slams - hard - into someone on the other side. She takes in a breath, and drops the bottles, as she hears whoever it is make some noise on the other side. ]

RAPTOR SCREECHING IN DELIGHT
Canon flavour or something else? If somewhere in the canon timeline: immediately post trial or some time after (but before ROTS)? Maybe they have a discussion before Ahsoka leaves?? Orrr Ahsoka breaks in to where she's being held captive? /KANYESHRUG HOW HARD CAN IT BE RIGHT?? Or after ROTS could work too but that would also probably involve more sad things than confrontations.]

This is of course a fact that nobody's escaped in the past several months, even if things are a little cozier in the Core worlds and Inner Rim, but as soon as it was clear that he'd be able to help, Ferus didn't intend to stay sheltered.
A lot of people have died, but there's a sense of hope that they're gaining ground against the Separatists, and so they keep fighting.
When the call came in that a contingent close by needed backup, Ferus responded without hesitation, despite not knowing any real details on what was happening planetside - only that he'd respond to Commander Tano, someone he hadn't previously met but knew from the HoloNet. Skywalker's apprentice, of course. Nobody had escaped that fact.
Touching down was uneventful, thankfully, but he'd expected that. If there was an outright war on this planet, it wasn't being fought at the recon point.
Exiting the craft with his right hand man and letting the rest of them stay behind for now, he quickly found who he was looking for.]
Commander Tano? Lieutenant Ferus Olin. How can we help you?
no subject
I... yes. That's me. [Splendidly done, Ahsoka. She shakes her head as if to clear it. Stick to the facts, she chides herself. She presses a button on her holopad and a transparent map of the Separatist and surrounding terrain appears.]
General Skywalker and 501st Division has been ordered to lead the assault on the front gates. But... some information has come to light that leads us to believe the information we got regarding the numbers on this base might be inaccurate. If it's true... the 501st would be walking in to a massacre.
Our mission is to take a small, quick scouting party and infiltrate from the rear tunnels, find out exactly what the situation is. We go in, we go out. Nobody gets seen, nobody fights anything. Any questions?

He's already lost Ahsoka. If she were here, the answer would be simple. It's why he seeks her out now. Turning to Obi-Wan isn't an answer he wants to consider. Every day, he feels a greater and greater divide between him and his master. Once, he believed that he trusted him—but that had been an illusion, some trick he had played on himself. (Or was it? Was it? He can't say.)
How he finds her is easy: it isn't the Force that guides him to her. It's his own knowledge of where she might go. Onderon is still being re-established, and he knows that if she had a choice, she'd return there to help, even guiding from a distance. It's how he found her the first time, and his gut (the Force, this is where it does play in) tells him to seek her there again.
Anakin isn't surprised when he breaks into the small hut where she lives to find a rather simplistic lifestyle. The Jedi lead ascetic lives, trained to want to indulge in very little. It's a way of ensuring that they never become too selfish. It's odd that he's adapted to much of that, but he knows Padmé is waiting for him, and she had always been one of the things he could never let go. (And the other, his mother, had been ripped from him cruelly.)
He overturns some of the holovids that she has sitting on a nearby shelf while he waits for her. He knows that he's curious about what captures her attention now, but he can only be so invasive, and being here is bad enough.
He also knows that he can't be here for long. He'll have to tell Mace Windu what he learned from Palpatine. Right now, he still doesn't know what the right answer is, and it feels like the girl he's waiting for may be the only one who knows. Oh, the answer should be obvious. Yes, Anakin knows that, and yet—]
omg omg
(There is no doubt in her mind that Anakin wouldn't have taken her to watch them as often if he wasn't carrying a torch for Padmé. Anakin's distaste for politics was even more pronounced than her own.)
Once they finish up, she excuses herself politely. Normally she sticks around to make small talk afterward-- she does actually care about these people and their lives, even if the business of slowly rebuilding a government is tiresome-- but not today. Anakin wouldn't have come if it weren't important. So she leaves in a hurry, locating him in the Force at or around her quarters.
Jumping on her speeder, she steels herself on the ride home. Tries to center herself in the Force. She isn't sure what's prompted this sudden, unannounced visit, but the Force (and logic) tells her that it can't be anything good. Conflicting feelings war in the pit of her stomach-- happiness, about seeing Anakin again, but also trepidation for the news he brings, and no small amount of homesickness. No, that's not right. The Order isn't her home anymore. She forfeited that right; she has to stop thinking of it like that.
By the time she pulls her speeder in, outside her secluded little place, she's no calmer than before. If anything, she feels more keyed up. Not able to last any longer, she calls out to him as she dismantles her speeder, from outside the hut.]
Anakin. [Not "Master," not anymore. It still feels strange, to call him by his first name. But she manages. She tries to keep her voice light, joking.] I hope you haven't touched the holovids while you waited! They're on loan, you know.
[Then she opens the door.]
