free and easy love, that's how it's s'posed to be!
want to thread with one of mine but aren't in the same game? want me to do something with one of yours in bakerstreet? can't find a good recent bakerstreet meme but want to thread anyway? want to explore au scenarios together? annoyed that i dropped that character you really wanted a thread with?
well drop me a comment here with whatever scenario (or link to a meme) you want, specify the character you want, and we can thread the merry day away!
any active or retired character from the muse list with two stars or more is fair game!
homeless characters are slightly different in that most of them don't have journals or icons set up, so you may have to give me a day or so to do that. and in some cases, a couple more days to canon review if i haven't in a while.

I'm serious, Skye.
[ it's a whisper-shout, emphatic. ]
Raina's still alive, and she was always more dangerous to you than —
[ he can't even say garrett's name. there's a torn-open hole in him that he's barely patched over, and it's visible in his eyes. but it makes it easier to look down the barrel of a gun. ]
She knows something about you.

Raina...? What does she want with me? I thought she was after Coulson.
no subject
[ instead he just lowers his arms like a shrug. ]
No. She wanted me to work with her to get you. Just you.
no subject
... Why?

Maybe she thinks you're someone you're not. Does it matter? She has contacts, resources.

Let's not get hyperbolic. Fitzsimmons were in a floating waterproof box filled with equipment. Believe me, if they'd stayed on the plane, things would have been much worse.

[ but fitzsimmonds were. he looks conflicted for a moment, his raised hisses dropping to concern, though it's furtive, like he's still worried someone will see. ]
Are they okay?
no subject
He's in a coma. He might never wake up. Even if he does, the doctors aren't sure he'll ever be the same again. So. That's on you.
no subject
You don't trust me. I get that. That's why any plan that hinged on getting you to let your guard down would be a bad one. I'm not here to play you, Skye. I'm here to warn you.
no subject
[Those words make herself feel sick. She missed her chance the first time, and Fitz suffered. Who'll suffer if she lets him go again? She should really shoot him. Shoot him now and bring him in. That's what would be expected of a SHIELD agent. That's what he deserves.
But... she still can't do it. Not like this.]
no subject
[ he doesn't reach out to her, not when she still has the gun, but there's something pleading in his tone. she's the only thing he cares about, now — more than even himself. he can't just walk out of here at loose ends. ]
Let me help you.

There's a burner cell in my left pocket. The only number in it is mine.
[ she's got the gun, so she gets to decide whether to let him give it to her or get it herself. ]
no subject
Save it. I'll never call you.
If I were left stranded on a desert island... if I was kidnapped, or lying in a ditch somewhere, or shot through the stomach again. I will never call you. Do you understand? I will literally die before that happens.
no subject
Sure. I'll just have to keep an eye on you, then.
[ because there's no way he's letting anything happen to her just because she's too stubborn to ask for his help. he knows he's the only one who can properly protect her. ]
[ and with that, he's leaving. ]

... You can't do much of anything if you're dead, Ward. ... Get yourself to a doctor. You look like shit.
no subject
[ she's right, though. it's time to get his shit together. right now it's like he's sitting in the middle of nowhere crying about how his clothes are wet, but garrett taught him better than that. he can get money. he can get tools. he can get fake identification, a hotel room, a check-up at a walk in clinic. he may not be willing to work for raina, but he's got other contacts, garrett had a lot of friends. his usual barber is a heap of rubble, but he should probably keep the stubble anyway, given his clean-shaven face is on the nsa's most wanted list. ]
[ sometimes he considers turning himself in. he could cut a pretty good deal, given some of the names and locations he knows. but it feels disloyal. not to hydra — he doesn't give a crap about hydra. but to john. ]
[ true to his word, he keeps an eye on skye, but stays out of her way, not wanting the new shield to get wind of his interest. the only contact he has is dropping the phone he promised in with her things while she's in the field. a note that says just in case. ]
[ better she have a last resort than no resort at all, when Raina's in the mix. ]

She thinks about telling the team what happened in the morning, too. But what would be the point? Ward was right about one thing-- if he wanted to hurt her or take her, he could've done so. She doesn't trust that there isn't some other element at play here, but she's at least confident he was telling the truth in that regard. So what would telling the team really achieve? She doesn't want May to be shadowing her 24/7, much as they've grown closer lately, or Coulson to worry. And she certainly doesn't need anyone questioning her decision not to bring him in-- she's already beating herself up about that enough as it is.
As for the phone-- she finds it some days after he drops it, and her eyes narrow with suspicion as she mutters "Creepy, much?" She debates throwing it in the next ocean they fly over. She almost does it. But something stops her. Not the thought of Ward, or the thought of needing help for herself. No, she said she'd die before asking him to come save her, and she meant it. ... But maybe she can use it to get Hydra intel out of him.
First, though, she dismantles it and takes the GPS out. That, she drops into the ocean. Then she stuffs the phone in a bottom drawer in her room, under a pile of clothes. It's not the best hiding place, but there aren't many good places to hide things on the Bus anyway. She just hopes nobody will ever have cause to be going through her stuff.
The first time she contacts him is almost a month after he dropped her the phone. The message is short and to the point.]
What do you know about this?
[Attached is a phone picture of the strange symbols Garrett-- and now Coulson, not that Ward knows that-- was drawing on the glass. The same symbols Ward took a photo of when he infiltrated that factory.
She won't use the phone to help herself. But she might use it if it can help Coulson.]

[ she's off the grid when she finally texts him. ]
Garrett was drawing something like that, after Raina gave him the GH325 synthesis. Thought he was losing it.
