[ It's easy to sound authorative and confident and not like a child over text. ]

[Luke switches on the camera, and ducks bashfully into it.] Uh, everyone says I look like him.

[ Ahsoka automatically switches to video when Luke does, but she forgets to hide her surprise. Luke does look like Anakin. They have the same features-- same sandy hair, same eyes, same straight nose and butt chin. But on Luke's face it's... softer, somehow. It's like looking at what might have been a sketch artist's attempt to render Anakin, had they only been told of his features, and nothing of his personality.

It takes her off guard. If the older Ahsoka was easy to read, this one is even easier. Her eyes boggle slightly, her surprise evident and unguarded in a combination of confusion, wonder and speechlessness. Finally, when she remembers her voice again, all she's able to manage is-- ]

... But you're the same age.

[Luke shrugs awkwardly. He's always liked people Ahsoka's age, but he can count on one hand all the times he's talked to them.]

Well, that's the funny thing about this place. It took me from a different time than Anakin. You know, 'the Force is always in motion'? [It's the only way it makes sense to him.]

[ Hmmm. This, she thinks she can understand. ]

... Like how everyone keeps saying that I'm normally older, even though I don't remember being any older right now?

Yeah. [He smiles.] You know, we're friends, when you're older. You taught me a lot! I figure, it's time I returned the favor, huh?

[Also, he's spent enough time with Ahsoka and Anakin and Padme to guess-] Also, [he says in a hushed voice,] I know all sorts of things about Anakin.

[It's not revenge, or cruelty, it's the mischievous glee of doing something that a normal father would be annoyed with his normal son for. He can't resist that.]

I taught you? [ Ahsoka still feels so young and inexperienced. The idea of having a student of her own is unthinkable. ]

Am I a good teacher? [ Suddenly, her awe subsides, and then she has a million questions at once. They all come tumbling out of her in a rush. ] Why not Skyguy? Did he leave the Order to have kids? Who's your mom? Wait, if I taught you, does that mean you have to call me "Master"?

[Luke laughs, obviously delighted by this stream of questions.]

Of course you taught me- you know a lot! My father... he's been too busy to teach me. [Moving on-] I'm not sure if it was to have kids, but he definitely left the order. [Moving on-] My mother is Padme. Um- you never asked me to call you master. I guess I can, if you want me to.

Senator Amidala--?!

[Pause... dot dot dot... processing...]

... Huh.

Actually. Now that I think about it. That makes sense.

[Luke beams at that. Boy does he love it when people remind him his mom's a senator.]

Yeah- they seem to really like each other. [Thank the Force.] They're pretty much inseparable, here.

Awww. Skyguy's a secret romantic! You wouldn't know it to look at him.

[She has a mischievous glimmer in her eye that says "I'm gonna tease him about this later."]

I guess I can give you a pass on calling me master. I shouldn't take credit for future-me's accomplishments.

I sure didn't. He's just about impossible for me to read. If you can't figure out what he's thinking, nobody can.

[Luke laughs again.] Well, that's gracious of you. I mean, I didn't exactly call you 'master' before...

Ugh! Tell me about it. Like the other day, we were fighting some seppies, and there were too many of them so I grabbed a detonator and threw it at them! You'd think he'd be pleased, right? But instead he got mad at me!

[Those sure are a lot of words. Luckily, Luke catches the overall meaning.]

Why did he get angry, Ahsoka? [Did he choke you.]

He was all, "You didn't think about the blast radius, Ahsoka!"

I had it under control. I would've been fine. He doesn't trust that I can handle myself!

[Pause.]

He Force-yanked me backwards and I fell on my butt. It was really embarrassing!

[Luke can't help but snicker.]

I think he was just worried. He loves you, so he gets worried.

[He's not sure his father has nearly the same concern for- no, don't get caught in childish envy. He's met his father; that's already more than he could ever ask.]

[Somewhat petulant:] I know.

But can't he be worried and trust me at the same time? Besides, if I never make any mistakes, how am I going to learn?

Is he really that overbearing?

[Ahsoka makes a non-committal noise.]
