Wait just a moment. First.

[And then holds out to Kanda the spare helmet.]

[looks at it dismissively. disgustedly. and ignores it]

There's no use huffing at me. It's the law!

The law doesn't apply to me.

Well, it does to me. I'm not going to get arrested because you're being prissy about your hair. So wear the damn helmet, Kanda.

No, but we're not going anywhere without it.

What if someone crashed into us and you hit your head?

[yanking the helmet out of his hands]

[VICTORY. Albert just gives him a shit-eating grin.]

Fine with me! Let's go.

[And he does in fact get on the bike and start it up. VROOM VROOM.]

[spitefully not fastening the helmet properly, when Albert's not looking. holding onto his waist]

[GOOD ENOUGH.

Albert takes them on a sensible-enough tour through the streets of Paris. It becomes apparent pretty quickly that a bike is indeed the most sensible way to travel-- managing a happy medium between speed and efficiency. The city is too large to be covered effectively on foot. But the roads are also jam packed with cars, though Albert is able to weave between them with little trouble at all-- clearly, he's used to this.

He also takes them off the road from time to time, down old, forgotten side-streets and through public parks. Down the riverbank by the water's edge, around the tourist attractions and the skeevy red light districts. They ride all over until the sun is setting.]

[raising his voice to be heard over the engine]

Oi, Albert. Are there—flowers? Gardens. The biggest gardens you have.

[assumedposition]

Do-- Do we have gardens? Kanda-- this is Paris! Of course we have gardens! We have at least twenty of them!

[Albert shakes his head.]

Never mind. I can think of a few.

[He revs the engine and increases their speed, setting off in a different direction. Thinking. Parc Monceau is closer to where they are, but Jardin des Plantes is prettier... they're losing the light, too. Making a snap decision, he sets out for the latter.]

As if I know where we are!

[Over the hum of the engine:]

Did you seriously wander around an unknown city without asking which one it was?

Why would that matter!?

Wouldn't most people want to know where they were?!

Albert falls silent at that, for a moment. Then he nods. Kanda can't see his little smile, but there's fondness in his voice.]

... I see. ... Well, I'm glad at least. If you're going to marry someone, it should be like that. Definitely.

[SOUNDS GRUFFLY EMBARRASSED]

[speaking of, while you slow down to enter the gates of the park, someone—a flurry of enormous dress and hair and sleeves—drops from a tree above and tackles Kanda off the bike]
